People that give the HT-CT150 and also other soundbars negitive reviews simply dont understand how to set them up or are choosing them in the wrong room shape.
If you have walls on the sides of you to be able to reflect the sound originating from the CT-150 (or many other soundbars) you're going to get a room filling sound that for most case's can really come near a surround sound.
like any soundbar, they must be mounted higher instead of lower, with a soundbar attached lower the sound get eaten up by rug, and furniture and the rest that is at of which level,,,a soundbar should be mounted at least from ear level or above to actually work properly.
I have owned a large number of soundbars over the a long time (Yamaha YSP's, Vizio, JVC and Zvox just to name a few) my CT-150 sounds amazing (even greater than my older CT-100 as well as CT-500).
"Some" settings regarding my CT-150,,,my BluRay player is defined to bitstream for the Dolby Digital and DTS, center channel on our CT-150 kept at around +1 (if you place the center channel to be able to high it over forces the surround effect),,,just doing those 2 things will greatly assistance with the overall sound.
Im getting a big room filling sound from my Sony HT-CT150 because i have set it up corrctly and because concerning walls on each side belonging to the soundbar to reflect the sound round the room.

Some people say "its not the case surround" or "its not as good as a 5. 1 system",,sorry but I require issue with those comment forms as I prefure the sound of a good soundbar over a 5. 1 full encompass system,,,with a soundbar you have sound all around you as well as your in a big audio bubble,,with a 5. 1 system there is discrete sound originating from each speaker, to me that sounds less natural that a soundbar,,,,I would rather have a good soundbar than your 5. 1 system any day of the week.
anyhow,,,,the CT-150 is really an excellent sounding system,,,if a person buy one, and it does not sound good,,,its your own fault.
