Singing gig/practice essentials.?
In the next few weeks i'll be starting to practice/gig with my new band. Now, everyones got there own equipment and one person has a PA, but I need to invest in my own stuff. I've decided to purchase an EV-976 microphone but don't know what else I need.
What are the essentials?
I'm a beginner at the tecnological side.
I need something to amplify my mic, obviously.
I'm also interested in a "voice monitor"
and maybe some effects stuff "voicelive 2/voice tone create"
from http://www.tc-helicon.com/products.asp
Would greatly appreciate some help and suggestions from experienced people! Mics, amps, monitors, effects/enhancers.
Some extra stuff that might help getting the right stuff:
I'd like my budget to be about £1100 / $1550, but ready to make bigger investments.
I'm a high-ish tenor (i like to be just above middle C)
The music is alternative rock/pop.
Thanks!
Certainly a good mic and a stand to start. Forget the effects, work on your own voice first. A good monitor amp will help. It doesn't have to be big and expensive. Also, watch out for the feedback when you get your mic too close to your monitor. That should get you started.
