Do i need an hdtv tuner with an hdt direct tv box?
No you don't. I think you're asking if your television has ot have an HDTV tuner built in, and again, the answer is no.
Some televisions have the cable outlet built inthe back so to accept HD feeds directly, which is the built in tuner.
You can use a Directv HD box and any HDTV together. Just plug in either HDMI cable or Component cables and run them from television (monitor) to Directv cable box.
However, keep in mind, your TV does have to be HD READY and capable of receiving signal transmissions of up to 1080i, otherwise it is not a high definition television.
