Enterprise used car summer event get blue book value for trade in + $500?
my question is if anyone knows this is true? i have a 96 sunfire convertible valued at 1,500 last time i checked its not in "like new" condition. For exp windows don't go down,the top is ripped up in the back,an needs paint..is there something im missing about this deal?

well, first off, yes this is how they do business. I have worked with Enterprise for a while (not an employee, I am a secondary vendor). They will go to kbb.com and look up the trade value of your car, then add $500. Keep in mind that their sales prices are fixed, they do not negotiate the purchase price of the car. I find their pricing to be normal for their market though.
To address the other answer, too. The universal idea is "oh no a rent car has been beat up". Generally not true. First off, you have to be over 25 to rent a car. Not many mature people beat a car for the juvenile thrill> Second, lets say someone does. Well if its beat on for a week or two out of the entire year, thats not near as bad as getting a car that was continually abused by that same guy. When you buy a used car, you run the risk that the last owner was a moron no matter what. Would you rather have that moron in the car for a week, or 4 years? Lastly, rent cars are routinely inspected and well maintained. The cars are the life of the company and need to be kept up so that they are able to be rented. They generally have better maintenance and upkeep than the acerage trade.
