What is the odds of going on broadway?
hey umm...i was just wandering cuz i couldnt find it on the internet what were the odds of going on broadway and what are the salaries for the stars on broadway??
There's A LOT of competition, but there is always a chance. I don't know if anyone knows specific odds, though. Equity minimum for a Broadway Musical Production Contract is a little over $1400, not $1200 as someone previously stated. It is less for straight plays. This rate is for the basic chorus in a musical and the pay increases if you are understudying a part, have a role, or if you are a lead. If you are a name, well, you can pretty much bargain whatever price you want through your agent. Broadway is the dream for most performers, but if you truly love theatre, I would focus your goals and vision for success less on "Broadway" and more on sustaining a steady career. There are many paths in life, and if you are steadily employed and can pay your bills doing what you love, then you are a success, regardless of where the stage is located. Good luck!!
