Any one can tell me the different between hdmi upscale receiver and HD cable box witch pic is better?
I am trying to buy a receiver with hdmi up convert and I wonder if that will make any deffrent than scripe to directv hd program or just upgrade my reciver and get better pic?
the HD reciever will have better picture, upconvert will be decent but the true HD reciever will be better. the most an upconvert will do is generally 720p so that isnt the best and it will also amplify imperfections slightly. I have run the upconvert DVD players and played the same movie and bought it and played it on HD dvd and it is much better on the HD dvd than the upconvert.. so if you can your best bet is to do the HD reciever. Enjoy the crisp picture!
