company sold my credit card number, is this legal?
I ordered this lotion that I heard about in a radio ad used my American Express, so the other day I received a call from a telemarketer trying to sell me this pack of coupons for a dollar and the lady said "Now Michelle, we're just going to go ahead and charge your card one dollar blah blah blah...", and I asked how she was gonna do that and she said "we'll use the Amex ending in 1234". when I asked how they got my credit card number she said they received it from the lotion company! Is this legal? (I told them not to charge me and they didn't so I wouldn't say i was robbed or anything but they did have my full Amex number).
Yes, it's legal. It was buried in the terms and conditions that nobody reads.
