Hooking speakers to a laptops?
Hey, I am looking to buy a set of BIC bookshelf speakers from amazon. http://www.amazon.com/BIC-America-DV62si-Bookshelf-Speakers/dp/B00006JPDI
However, I have a number of worries:
First, I am not sure of the process required to hook it up with my laptop. Do those speakers simply plug into the sound output on my laptop?
Would there be any better speakers around the $100 price range? I am looking to spend about sub $150 on a pair of cheap bookshelf speakers (I am not looking into computer speakers because I was told that bookshelf speakers sound much better with music).
Thanks,
Steve
If you go with regular home speakers that are passive (non-powered) you can run a sound card/interface with RCA outputs, but you will still need a stereo receiver or home theater system. There are ones that slide into a WI-Fi port and there are others that are USB powered. I run the M-Audio Fastrack ($99 at Guitar Center and sometimes as low as $79 at Best Buy.) It is very easy and allows you to adjust levels and listen to all your pc based music on your home stereo/theater. Absolutely love being able to do this. I have a Wireless system that does the same thing and I don't even use it even thoug it was twice as much as the sound card... Good luck!
