What is the difference between the Intel Xeon and Intel i3,i5,or i7 proccessors?
I've seen advertisements for both and I know that the i series is fairly new, but I've never heard of the Xeon. Is it newer or just something I must have missed and how does it compare to the i series?
Xeon is Intel's server processor line. Unless you work int the comptuer business, you won't have heard of them.
Performance wise, they can equal or exceed anything in the Core i# line. The top Xeon now has 8 cores, and a hefty 4 digit price tag.
